Expressions of interest are now invited from anyone wishing to take part in SHP’s annual Implementation Science Masterclassto be held 22 and 29 July.

The Masterclass is a practical introduction to the science of implementation for health professionals and health researchers.

Over the day-two program, attendees will develop their implementation project, guided by implementation science experts.

The concept should focus on an implementation science, quality improvement or changing practice research question, and can be any topic relevant to the health system, including patient, provider, organisational or health service change.

The aim is to build capacity and expertise across SHP, thereby better enabling health professionals and researchers within the healthcare system to:

  • solve complex problems
  • translate evidence into practice
  • tackle clinical problems that need practical solutions
  • impact on patient outcomes in the longer term.

There is significant demand for Implementation Science education and training opportunities in Australia and there is limited capacity in the SHP Masterclass. The Masterclass aims to support and build capacity in Implementation Science while still ensuring a focus on the clinical priorities of our Partners. We want to ensure our Partners benefit from the capacity building activities we offer as part of the SHP Implementation Science program.

A major priority for SHP is to provide support and services that encourage innovation. The Masterclass is an opportunity for researchers and health professionals to develop innovative concepts. We want to ensure the future success of these projects which is why a plan to apply for major grant applications is required. It ensures these innovative projects can continue to be developed and supported into the future.
